Technical Reliability
"It worked fine yesterday. Why am I rebuilding it mid-round?"
You probably know someone like this. You might be someone like this.
One loose shot and I'm not thinking about the next one, I'm thinking about my grip, my takeaway, my hip turn, all at once, mid-round, with eleven holes still to play. I've turned a game into a repair job, and I'm doing the repairs live, with no idea if any of them are actually the fix.
The maddening part is I've got a swing that works. It's held up plenty of times. But the moment it wobbles, I stop trusting it and start hunting for the reason, and that hunt usually makes things worse, not better, because now I'm swinging like someone thinking about eight different positions instead of someone hitting a golf ball.
I'm not short on technique. I'm just quick to abandon a swing that's basically fine the second it produces one bad result, and that habit costs me more than the original miss ever did.
I fix what isn't broken, mid-round, under pressure. I chase the cause of a bad shot instead of managing the miss, I collect swing thoughts faster than I can use them, and trusting the swing I've actually got is the bit I find hardest.
If any of this sounds familiar, it's worth finding out how far it actually runs. The free assessment covers this alongside seven other areas that shape a round, and takes about eight minutes.
